What is the Traslatio Route?
The Traslatio Route follows the legendary path that, according to tradition, the disciples of Apostle St. James took to carry his body by boat to Galicia. The journey connects Vilanova de Arousa with Pontecesures, navigating through mussel platforms, crossing the world’s only maritime-fluvial Way of the Cross, and passing landmarks like Cortegada Island and the Towers of Catoira.
This is more than a scenic route—it’s a symbolic journey that adds a deep spiritual perspective to the traditional Camino.
When Can You Take the Route?
From March 1 to the end of October, we offer daily guaranteed departures, as long as the tide allows. The standard departure time is 08:00, but it may be adjusted depending on tidal conditions. If a time slot fills up, we open new departures to accommodate demand.
From November to February, the route is also available, but you’ll need a minimum group of 10 people to book.

The main departure point is the Mar de Santiago Maritime Station in Vilanova de Arousa, but we also offer departures from:
